| Editorial Reviews: Product Description In partnership with Duirwaigh, Inc., Amber Lotus is proud to announce the publication of the second edition of A Knock at the Door. This beautiful hardcover collector's book with DVD is based on Duirwaigh's first inspirational mini-film of the same title, which caused an unexpected international sensation. The book contains larger images of the art used in the film with glorious, lush detail. The stunning works of art from a wide range of leading contemporary fantasy artists are combined with inspiring text that leads the reader back to the magical place inside themselves. A Knock at the Door takes us to the beginning and end of every journey; a place of wonder and innocence, but above all a place of remembering - to the most magical secret place of all - the place of believing. A Knock at the Door makes a wonderful gift for friends and loved ones in need of a message of encouragement and inspiration. | |||||||||||
Customer Reviews: Not quite what I expected January 6, 2009Deanna (Chico, California, USA) I really LOVE the artwork in this book, and the message. I had seen the you-tube version and I wanted it. I got the 2009 calendar as well. (The calendar is a little pricey, but beautiful and big.) I guess I didn't realize 1) How small it would be (just a little bigger than a DVD); and, 2) That there is nothing more to it than the you-tube version. No more of a story or anything.., just BEAUTIFUL artwork and nice little fantasy pictures. I know it says the size.., but up close and personal it just loses a lot in this tiny version. If I would have known, I would have only bought a really big version, like a 10x10 or larger.., for a coffee table book. But I do LOVE the artwork and the whimsy.., it just wasn't quite what I was expecting. I like that it came with the DVD, that does make it worth the price, and I think it makes an excellent gift for anyone who likes this type of artwork. You cna go back to the Enchanted forest again September 20, 2008Donna M. Swindells (Richmond,Va.) "A knock at the door, book with DVD, took me by surprised and tears of feeling young at heart again. This book and its DVD with it is a priceless return to when you were a child, perhaps your Mother or father read to you beautiful and magical tales of an enchanted forest, and the beings that dwelled in them. Buy it for yourself, you can enjoy it privately(in case you get teary-eyed) then let your kids and/or grandkids read the book, and watch the book come alive before their eyes, with the DVD that included. A Winner! Blessings, Donna Swindells A Treasure of Inspiration August 20, 2008C. Ball (United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful I stumbled across this film on the net years ago and was simply taken by it. It is truly magical. I always wanted to own it and watch it on something other than a computer screen. The music, artwork and message are top notch. It seems to dig down deep and finds that little bit of wonder you had as a kid and turns it on again. Nothing mystical or religious in the message, just inspiration with the whimsy of fairy tales. It's not long at all, just a few minutes, but it is a beautiful creation. I think you will enjoy it. The publishers own the Duirwaigh Gallery (Duirwaigh is Gaelic for Doorway). The film originally was called "A Knock on the Duir", which I liked being from Celtic origins. Enjoy! | |||||||||||
